“Influenced by the catastrophic flooding events of 2022, I am exploring through sea metaphors the possibility of human suffering as a doorway to transformation.
Experimenting with the vertical landscape format pioneered by wood block artists from the Edo period in Japan. The compositions arose from photographs of local sites including the break wall at Brunswick Heads and Julian Rocks.”
